Dewa yang hidup-mati-dan terlahir kembali

Kategori dewa yang hidup-mati-dan terlahir kembali juga dikenal sebagai dewa yang "mati dan bangkit" atau "kebangkitan" dewa adalah arti yang sesuai untuk mengklasifikasikan banyak tuhan atau dewa dalam mitologi atau agama bumi yang mengalami kelahiran, mati dengan menderita, muculnya sebuah gerhana atau peristiwa serupa dalam kematiannya, melintasi alam gaib setelah kematian, dan setelah itu terlahir kembali, dalam sensasi simbolik atau literal.



Tuhan dan dewa laki-laki di antara figur-figur tersebut diantaranya Osiris, Adonis, Tammuz, Zalmoxis, Phoenix, Baldr, dan Odin.



Tuhan wanita atau dewi yang melalui kerajaan kematian dan kembali diantaranya Inanna (juga dikenal sebagai Ishtar) yang dipuja dari 4000 SM dan Persefone, figur sentral Misteri Eleusinia, yang disembah dari tahun 1700 SM sebagai dewi tanpa nama yang disembah di Kreta.
